Opening a Corporate Bank Account in Nigeria (2026 Checklist)
Every document Nigerian banks ask for in 2026 - and the common reasons applications get sent back.

Bank requirements tightened again in 2026. Walking in unprepared means weeks of back-and-forth. Use this checklist.
Standard document pack
- CAC certificate + status report (printed in colour)
- Memart (for LTDs) / Application form (for Business Names)
- TIN certificate
- SCUML certificate (where applicable)
- BVN and NIN of all signatories & directors
- Valid government ID of each signatory
- 2 passport photos per signatory
- Utility bill < 3 months for business address
- Board resolution to open the account (LTDs)
- Reference letters (some banks: 2 from existing account holders)
Why banks reject applications
- BVN name mismatch with CAC director name
- Address on utility bill ≠ address on CAC
- Missing SCUML for a DNFBP-classified business
- Outdated CAC status report (>3 months old)
AMG runs a pre-check before submission so you walk in once and leave with an account number.
